Cloud Engineer Visa Route

Eligibility requirements

• 1Degree in Computer Science or equivalent cloud infrastructure experience
• 2CLB 7 minimum (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
• 3Minimum 1 year of continuous full-time cloud engineering experience
• 4Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from WES if degree is from outside Canada
• 5Sufficient settlement funds (~CA$14,690 for a single applicant, 2026 figure)
• 6Medically admissible and no serious criminal record

Document checklist

• Valid passport
• IELTS or CELPIP test results (CLB 7+)
• ECA from WES
• Employment reference letters (job title, hours, duties, salary, supervisor contact)
• Cloud certification(s) (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Police clearance certificates
• Medical exam from a panel physician
• Proof of settlement funds

Step-by-step process

   Complete IELTS/CELPIP to achieve CLB 7 or higher in all four abilities

2. 2

   Obtain ECA from WES for your degree

3. 3

   Create an Express Entry profile — cloud engineers (NOC 21233/21234) are highly competitive

4. 4

   Enter the Express Entry pool and receive your CRS score

5. 5

   Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) via a tech-category or general draw

6. 6

   Submit your complete PR application within 60 days of ITA

7. 7

   Complete biometrics and medical exam; receive COPR
