  • 1Nursing degree and ANMAC (Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council) skills assessment
  • 2AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) registration or eligibility
  • 3Competent English: IELTS 7.0 in each of the four bands for AHPRA (IELTS 6.0 for visa itself)
  • 4Minimum 65 points on Australia's points test
  • 5Age under 45 at time of invitation
  • 6Occupation on the relevant skilled occupations list (MLTSSL or STSOL)

Step-by-step process

    Obtain a positive skills assessment from ANMAC

    Achieve IELTS 7.0 in all bands for AHPRA, and 6.0 in all bands for the visa

    Calculate your points score and create a SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI)

  4. 4

    Receive a state or territory nomination (if applying for subclass 190) for +5 points

  5. 5

    Receive an invitation to apply from the Department of Home Affairs

  6. 6

    Lodge the visa application and pay the fee

  7. 7

    Provide biometrics and undergo a medical examination

  8. 8

    Receive visa grant
